Junior Plant Controller – Brussel – Permanent Position

Your responsibilities as a Junior Plant Controller will be:

  • You supervise the month-end closing process;
  • You support the validation of actual monthly results and investigate and resolve anomalies and unusual trends;
  • You manage, review and monitor the cost accounting process to control current, and plan for, future operations;
  • You comment and explain, on a monthly basis, plant results (financial and non-financial) through reporting;
  • You challenge the assumptions/targets used in the budget and forecasting process;
  • You are in charge of monthly review and analysis of all plant costs and challenge these with management;
  • You support the plant controller in reviewing requests for investments;
  • You are responsible and accountable for the accurate application of accounting principles (local and group). You manage the financial system in the plant, keeping the ERP system in line with business requirements;
  • You are accountable and responsible for improvement of the financial and business reporting processes (reducing complexity or avoiding non-value adding processes);
  • You implement optimal transfer pricing policy with our legal and tax department;
  • You provide the internal customers with the necessary information so they can manage the relationship with the tax authorities, and the statutory auditors;
  • You ensure full compliance with group and business unit policies and internal control procedures;
  • You assist in the implementation of a control environment that ensures the mitigation of financial and business risks (errors, misuse of assets, fraud, …);
  • You ensure internal audit findings are properly and timely addressed.

Required profile for the Junior Plant Controller:

  • You have a master’s degree;
  • You have minimum 2 years of relevant experience;
  • You are flexible, open-minded and able to work in a team as well as independently;
  • You have an excellent critical mindset and analytical skills;
  • You have strong communication skills;
  • You are fluent in Dutch and English;
  • You have good knowledge of IT tools, including Microsoft Excel. Experience with SAP and/or HFM Hyperion is a plus.
