Market Development Manager (m/f)

The Group searches for Total Petrochemcials & Refining S.A. a Market Development Manager (m/f):

Your tasks:
Acquire, analyse and comprehend market static’s and dynamics: collect data, analyze driving forces, foresee disruptive changes, competitor’s intelligence, build thorough understanding of customer’s needs and value chain, anticipate dynamic response to prepare our future positioning.
Position Total in this environment: SWOT analysis -Profitability analysis -Cost structure -Industrial concept.
Build a competitive strategy (4P) for the markets in charge inside the Marketing Plan, LTP and Budget:
* Define and manage the product slate of its segment (volume per grade): on the basis of market analysis & in coherence with POLYMERS EUROPE strategy
Define the pricing strategy for the grade slate Define the placement of products (market, customer, geographic)Define the promotion plan and manage associated budget: communicate internally (buy-in) & externally (conference, trade fairs, press releases…)
Implement, monitor and co-ordinate the marketing plan:
* Monitor the budget realization (cost, pricing, volumes)
* Stimulate and manage the innovation initiatives in the market segment
* Monitor that R&D program is kept in line with the defined Marketing Plan
* Steer the new product development process

Manage
* Identification and the development of differentiation and growth drivers
* Circular Economy initiatives to reduce the activity environmental footprint.
* Advocacy plan of the market segment to defend the image of our polymers and support our customers

Coordinate marketing activities with the segments and other regional POLYMERS business units
Provide effective consultancy and coaching: be the key contact point to project leaders, account managers, sales managers, technical service and R&D people, Business Team.
Provide fundamentals financial analysis for small projects to technical service and business development teams
Create and promote an image of excellence towards all stakeholders regarding our products and industrial activities

– University degree in chemistry/chemical engineering /polymer science with an interest in economics
– Alternatively: university degree in economics, with an interest in technical/ R&D developments in the application
– 10 years of experience in a polymer/petrochemical field (technical/sales/marketing/business dev.) and in B to B environment
– Assertive, management skills, communicative, capable to project with a realistic vision, creative, thinking out of the box, autonomous
– Languages: French & English as a minimum
