* Manage the Cracking Furnaces Industrial Network; build collaboration with sites; use the network as the means to implement improvements in support of the CDRC four core manufacturing priorities:safety,
* operational availability,
* costs control,
* energy efficiency.
* Develop and maintain Guides and Manuals describing Total RC’s Best Practices, incorporating site experience via the network.
* Total R-C representative on the BTP Furnace Workteam: follow-up Total R-C action items.
* Identify opportunities for projects to improve site performance (expenses, losses, efficiency, energy efficiency, recycling etc.)
* Initiate studies for the above. Coordinate with site specialists.
* Provide or assign cracking furnace expert or specialist support for all studies, pre-projects and projects.
* Be the focal point for coordination with RC/IND/EXM/HELP for cracking furnace related problems:technical assistance for problem resolution;
* pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up, and test run witnessing site services.
* Provide training of operational staff (including Base Chemicals Process Technology Course).
* Support RC/IND/EXM/ECC in the preparation of General Specifications.
* Develop and promote technology improvements in the expert field (innovation).
* Maintain, coordinate and disperse knowledge of our furnace technology and potential new technologies.
* Anticipate the evolution of regulation concerning cracking heaters (European and local legislation).
* Provide expert support for feed evaluation (cracking yields, coking, contaminants).Pyrolysis Micro-Pilots (MPPs) operation.
* Feed and product sample and analysis.
* Maintenance and improvement of simulation tools (especially EFPS-SPYRO).
* Provide expert support on process safety for cracking furnaces.
* Optimize site furnace operation phases: start-up, shut-down, decoking, normal operation, testing, tune-up.
* Provide support on burner technology: development, specification, testing, installation, operation and maintenance (coordinated with RC/IND/EXM/ECC).
Safety :
* Take into account HSEQ aspects during development of projects, site activities, and preparation of Best Practices.
* Provide expert support on process safety for cracking furnaces.
Full participation in EEPC and other societies and working groups concerned with cracking furnace safety.
Minimum of 15 – 20 years experience – Recognized internationally for cracking furnace expertise.
An ongoing relationship with, key engineered equipment suppliers and main technology licensors is essential.
Familiarity with applicable international Codes, Standards and Recommended Practices is required.
Knowledge of furnace mechanical and civil-structural design, combustion CFD etc. is also highly desirable.
He/she should be able to establish precise objectives in cooperation with operations.
Good managerial, organizational and communication skills, good interpersonal relationship.
Fluent in English and French.
