REGIONAL CATAGORIE LEADER – INNOVATIVE COMPANY

The Regional Category Leader will be responsible for bringing regional inputs into the global strategy for their respective category.  Additionally, this individual will be responsible for implementing the strategy in his/her region. In this role, the Regional Category Leader will work with Sourcing Project/Product Leaders, Global Category Leaders, and Regional Technology, and Supply Chain Leaders.

• Participates in the development of the Global Category Strategy
• Validates global category strategy and drives 100% compliance to the strategy
• Owns achieving the category business goals for the region, reports out to the Global Category Manager and regional team on progress
• Coordinates the supplier(s) negotiations regionally and globally as need by the Global Category Manager
• Responsible to maintain ongoing dialog with the regional sourcing teams, regional category managers, and project sourcing leaders on key supplier issues
• Drives consistent Supplier Quality and OTD for Regional Suppliers in the Category
• Project ITO Support
  • Works with Project Estimators and Global Category Managers to support project proposals
  • Drives Standardization
  • Selects preferred suppliers and coordinates early involvement as appropriate.

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in Category/Supplier Management, Purchasing, Production Control, Engineering, Product or Project management
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the above category
• Ability to travel up to 20% of the time  

Desired Characteristics:

• Engineering Degree and MBA are preferred
• Strong interpersonal, communication, presentation and facilitation skills 
• Strategic thinker/planner 
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills 
• Ability to cope with multiple complex situations daily 
• Knowledge of GE business operations 
• Negotiations expertise
