Cyber Security Engineer (m/f)

You will work as a Cyber Security Engineer within the ICT expertise group. Your task package will consist of the following:
  • You will participate in the development and rollout of a web application firewall and load balancer in consultation with colleagues from system management and application development;
  • Managing (as a backup) the various firewalls and network switches within the ICT environment;
  • You will be responsible for monitoring, follow-up and analysis of the entire security environment:
    • Completing firewall and switch analysis logs
    • Completing security tool (anti-malware, Splunk SIEM, etc.) analysis logs
  • In addition to analysis, you will also be responsible (in consultation with colleagues and specialised partners) for resolving security reports and incidents;
  • You will be responsible for analysing and consolidating various logs into workable data;
  • You will contribute to increasing cyber security;
  • Documenting operational, installation and management procedures of the IT systems;
  • You will be able to successfully complete projects, either as part of a team or alone.
  • Providing second-line support in one’s own knowledge area;
  • Actively participating in improving the service provision and quality of business processes supported by ICT.
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science;
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar position;
  • Good knowledge of and/or experience with several of the following concepts and products:
    • LAN technologies (switching, routing, firewalling)
    • Juniper and Palo Alto network and security
    • F5, NetScaler
  • Knowledge of SIEM systems is expected;
  • A sense of initiative, independence, organisation, analytical and project-based work;
  • The ability to interact flexibly and efficiently in new environments;
  • Creative, goal-oriented and assertive;
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written;
  • Adapted knowledge of Dutch, French and English;
  • Able to independently manage ICT security projects;
  • Experience in a managerial function in projects.
