Research Scientist

You will work on a project on UAV based field phenotyping of sugar beet. More specifically, you will analyze existing datasets from field trials from different regions of the world with two objectives.
The first objective is to validate the methodologies for estimating different traits and assess their accuracy. The second objective is to evaluate the
applicability of different field phenotyping use cases for commercial sugar beet breeding. Within the framework of this project:
You will interact with the phenotyping experts, breeders and phytopathologists
You will compile and statistically analyze datasets using various statistical approaches
You will regularly report and discussresults with the project manager
You will formulate recommendations on how to advance with these new technologies in commercial sugar beet breeding

You have a Bachelor degree in applied biological sciences, biology or similar.
You have a strong knowledge of statistical methods (mainly GLM)
You have an advanced skill level in working with excel and statistical
software packages You have a basic understanding of crop physiology and phytopathology

Experience with image-based phenotyping is a plus
You have strong communication skills
You have a creative problem solving
attitude, you are result-driven and have
an eye for detail You are fluent in English and Dutch.
