Manager OEM Field Sales (m/f)

Home office based in Germany, Netherlands or Belgium and reporting to the VP Custom Solutions EMEA, the Manager OEM Field Sales (OEM = Original Equipment Manufacturer) will be responsible for the overall development and management of Custom by QIAGEN’s (CbQ) business in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg:
  • Business development initiatives in Custom Solutions consistent with the company’s overall strategy.
  • Manage and exceed sales forecast and budget on an ongoing basis.
  • Develop and maintain a territory business plan for CbQ-customers.
  • Revenue generation and strategic partnership development and management.
  • Manage complex contract negotiation and work with legal counsel as required.
  • Communication of OEM-client requirements to internal stakeholders to deliver custom projects effectively and in a timely manner.
  • Provide feedback on market requirements and competition to the organization for OEM and Enzyme business.
  • Attend conferences and exhibitions in support of Custom Solutions business.
  • Attend company meetings and trainings as required.
Position Requirements
  • Scientific degree (Master of Science), PhD and/or MBA degree is a plus (equivalent experience in lieu of advanced degree acceptable).
  • Strong Molecular Biology Applications background.
  • At least 2-3 years proven sales experience in research or diagnostic market.
  • Demonstrated scientific « problem solving » skills, translated into consultative selling process where the « win » is for both the client and the company.

  • Self-motived with the ability to work independently, able to organize and prioritize a diverse set of responsibilities to ensure that focus on growth and success of the company is achieved.
  • Ability to participate with others as a member of the team to ensure that demanding and difficult projects are handled smoothly and cooperatively to enhance success of project.
  • Strategic thinker with strong business acumen.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills at all business levels.
  • Fluency in German and English, additional language skills advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%, moderate overnight travel required depending on location.
