R&D SCIENTIST

For one of our pharmaceutical clients in Beerse, we are currently looking for an R&D SCIENTIST.

You will be using state-of-the-art gene editing tools to support the identification and development of small and large molecule therapeutics for disease indications including Oncology, Immunology, Infectious Diseases and Neuroscience. Responsibilities include design and execution of large scale cellular experiments using CRISPR/Cas9 and other functional genomics tools for target identification, mode of action (MOA) characterization, and mechanisms of resistance and/or sensitivity to small and large molecules. 

General tasks & responsibilities: 

• Design and execute molecular or cellular laboratory experiments
• Interpret, troubleshoot and report on complex data
• Develop high-throughput cellular assays
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and data
• Prepare meeting presentations
• Keep up-to-date on literature

Required skills :

• PhD or MS degree with a minimum of 4 years of laboratory experience
• Extensive hands-on experience in cellular and molecular techniques including cell culture, western blotting, qRT-PCR, transduction and transfection
• Ability to perform proper tissue culture is a must
• Experience with Flow cytometry is plus, preferred TA Oncology / Neurology
• Experience with CRISPR and RNAi reagents is strongly desired
• You possess good organizational skills for planning experiments and documentation
• You can manage multiple experiments and projects simultaneously
• You have excellent written and oral communication skills in English
• You have strong capabilities to collaborate with scientists in multiple disciplines
• You are able to supervise/guide junior research associates and students
• You have a positive attitude, are enthusiastic and motivated
