The Vetting Department is a virtual team, spread over Antwerp, Germany, Malaysia, China and the USA. The main responsibility of the team is to monitor the suitability and quality of sea freight ships and inland vessels for the transport of chemical supplies. As a deputy Manager in the Vetting Department, you will have the following
responsibilities:
o You and your team members will put together regulation documents, which ships must meet in order to get the permission to transport chemical products.
o These documents have to be based on inspection reports from CDI and/or SIRE and other resources.
o You are responsible for monitoring the compliance with regulation documents. Independent inspectors will do inspection work.
o Next to that, you will initiate and supervise ship inspections.
o Reviewing and appraising inspection reports will be one of your tasks.
o You will closely follow all vetting laws and topicality.

o You live within reachable distance of Antwerp.
o Frequent traveling is no issue for you (max. 50% of your time).
o Advanced knowledge of English is compulsory, basic knowledge of Dutch will give an asset to your application.
o You have experience within the maritime industry (for example as captain).
o You are empowered with accurate knowledge of international laws within the Vetting field, possibly supplemented by experience in security management and nautical inspections.
o You live within reachable distance of Antwerp.
